At its most basic, candied bacon (or pig candy) is a dessert, appetizer, or side dish made by coating thick strips of smoked bacon with sugar. The bacon should be crispy but not overdone. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes. Bake for 15 minutes or until bacon is golden brown and cooked to your preference.
